This artisan-crafted one-of-a-kind illuminated papier mâché Advent calendar is beautiful enough to be a permanent fixture in your home all year round. I have created this Christmas Advent calendar to look like a dollhouse. I chalk-painted it in a shabby chic style, with a festive wreath hanging on the front door. The attic space is wallpapered with miniature old newsprint and has a string of LED battery powered lights with on/off switch. There is plenty of room for a special wrapped Christmas morning gift. The roof has white icicles hanging off the edge, there are shutters at the windows and even faux smoke coming out of the chimney!
The house has 25 numbered drawers, windows, a door and attic space to contain a surprise gift for each day. You can fill the drawers and spaces with goodies, trinkets, and dollhouse miniatures and accessories. Add any small items you wish, to create a Christmas countdown calendar that any child, children or miniature-collecting adult would be thrilled with. The front door and windows have magnetic closures, to hide the surprise until the appropriate day. This beautiful heirloom quality Advent calendar can be used year after year. Just fill it with treats to enjoy the whole month leading up to Christmas, making the season extra special.
The assembled house measures:
11 1/8 inches wide x 2 1/4 inches deep x 16 1/8 inches high at the roof peak
Each drawer or window compartment is about 2 x 2 x 2 inches
The front door compartment is 4 x 2 x 2 inches
The attic space is about 10 inches wide (at base) x 4 1/2 inches high (at peak)
The house comes completely assembled, but the roof is unattached for ease of shipping and storing. Just connect it at the fastener points before hanging the house or placing it on a shelf. A string for hanging is attached to the back of the house. Any icicles that are bent in transport, can easily be straightened with your hand.
* This item is somewhat delicate, so it is best use adult assistance for very small children. It also has small parts that could come off and be a choking hazard.
**Listing is for lighted Advent house with drawers only. Any other items pictured are for illustrative purposes and not included.
